Heteropodi is an independent dance company, orientated towards creating productions and education in the filed of contemporary dance. Main initiator of the company's activity is Rossen Mihailov - dancer, lecturer and choreographer.

For the performance 36 he invites the leading Bulgarian contemporary dance choregraphers to create solo miniatures for him. As a main theme is chosen the subject of communication, exchange and influence between independent and parallelly developing individuals, aesthetic systems and media. The main focus is on the drive towards self isolation as a conscious choice. The presentation of the performance at ITF Varna Summer is within the framework of the British Council Creative Collaboration project. The British choreographer Robert Tannion has been specially invited to lead a contemporary dance workshop together with Rossen Mihailov. Their performance together with the participants in the workshop can be seen only in the festival's program. More information on the Creative Collaborations project can be found on page

The performance is a collage of various styles: flashy quotations of classical ballet, variety and jazz dance , automated repetition of movements, behavioral matrixes  and situations, abstract contemporary style, contact improvisation etc. Despite these eclectics in style and even genre, what is common between the miniatures and unites them is the minimalist and laconic artistic expression of the choreographers.
