The Stage in the Hour of Reconciliation with the Text

As monotonous or varied theatre life may seem to us, the attitude to the text always remains a possible angle that raises issues for examination. After the inspired verve for deconstruction in directing and the random agglutination of dramaturgical clippings, it seems now that our stage begins to strive for a more balanced integrity of the text, to acknowledge its aesthetic sovereignty, to recall neglected ways of interpretation. I would not dare to claim that it is a tendency of striking visibility. However, I find it interesting to direct the attention of the festival audience towards where more than piles of textual ruins occur. The suggested guideline of the selection ensures openness for the realization of most diverse dramatic texts and it seeks, of course, to come nearer the ideal motto, that combines clarity and non-commitment.
